Gel wax is an excellent choice for candle making thanks to its high transparency and ability to hold decorations. The main difference between high and low melting points depends on the wax's density and its ability to withstand fragrances.

Here's a comparison highlighting the key differences to help you choose the right type for your project:

1. Low Melting Point Gel Wax (Low Polymer)

This type is the softest and easiest for beginners to work with.

Melting Point: Typically between 50°C and 55°C.

Fragrance Tolerance: Relatively poor, it can only withstand approximately 3% fragrance oil.

Consistency: Very soft, similar to light gelatin.

Best Use: Ideal for small containers and simple candles without heavy decorations.

Advantages: Melts quickly and releases bubbles more easily.

2. High Melting Point Gel Wax (High Polymer)

This is the "professional" type and the most stable. Melting point: Up to 80°C or higher.

Fragrance tolerance: Very high, capable of absorbing up to 5-6% fragrance oils.

Texture: Solid and firm, similar to strong rubber.

Optimal use: Ideal for candles containing heavy decorations (such as shells, sand, or figurines) because its firm texture prevents the decorations from sinking to the bottom.
